What is the best credit card for undergraduate students?

I am a sophomore in college in need of a credit card capable of making purchases outside of Old Navy! I've seen plenty Student Credit Cards listed, but I'd like to know a little more - which would you recommend?|||Any card will do.

I'm not sure why people think they have to pay interest on a credit card.

I have had 2 cards for a decade now and have never paid interest.

If you pay in full you never pay interest - ever.

This also gets you top 800+ scores - super easily.

Go to bankrate.com or credit.com

Make sure you get one without an annual fee.

Forget the interest rate - you will never pay interest if you want good credit for your future.

On your credit report a future lender will not be able to tell if you have paid interest or not if you use your card each month for something you need and pay in full.

Oh I forgot, if you are under 21, you will not be getting a credit card on your own - new laws - you'll need a parent to co-sign.

/|||LOL! I take it you have an Old Navy card.

1.Check your credit score to see where you stand.

2. See if your mom or dad is willing to be a cosigner.

3. If so, get an American Express Blue (not the student blue, as that has an annual fee).

Though American Express is not accepted everywhere, this card has no annual fee, gives you buyers protection(if u dont like an item or it breaks, Amex will cover the cost for you (see their website for details)). They extend warranties on most items for fee, great point system. I had this card as a college sophomore and I still use it.

Only cons:

Amex is not accepted as widely as Visa|||Go to a site such as findcollegecards.com or so that specialize ONLY with student credit cards. Scour through those and see what works the best.

IMO, the best ones on the market are either Citi or Discover. Good luck!|||How about a debit card, nearly anyone can get one and they don't charge you a bunch of money on interest rates.|||get visa!!
