Go to your bank. All banks offer credit cards called "secured visas". You give the bank $500, and they give you a credit card with a $500. limit. After 6 months or a year, you can expand your line of credit. After another set time, you can get your $500. back and have an actual line of credit. The interest rate is reasonable on a secured visa.





Avoid those little card tables with the prizes and t-shirts set up on campus.
